Who we work with
North Yorkshire Police & North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue
Working in collaboration with North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, Road Safety Talks present as part of their ‘Learn & Live’ campaign.
This campaign is aimed at Sixth Form Children, who are new to, or currently learning to drive, raising their awareness of the consequences of poor driving and being a passenger in a vehicle driven by a young driver.
What people have to say
As a Roads Policing Sgt, my role is to improve driver behaviour & reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured on our roads.
I cannot emphasise enough just how beneficial having Lauren as part of our team is, the realism she brings to presentations by sharing her personal story cannot be under estimated and I know just how impactive to the students this is.
Traffic Sgt Paul Cording
North Yorkshire Police
I can honestly say that it is a very long time since a visitor to our school has made such a difference.
Not only was Lauren candid about her accident, she answered some of the most personal questions around her life now that only a child of 10 or 11 can ask; such as how difficult she finds it seeing her…
…friends getting married and having children, or how hard it is to get up on a morning. On not one occasion did Lauren dodge the issue and answered each and every enquiry with a positive outlook and determination.
Moreover, she delivered her message about the importance of being careful on the roads with such clarity that all of the children could talk knowledgeably about what she had said and all listened attentively.
I am always so impressed by the modest approach and grounded attitude Lauren retains whilst continuing to spread the message far and wide.
